Activating Employer Brand through
Nation-Wide Competition and
Upskilling Program

Situation:

Telkomsel came to Kalibrr for consultation and explained that it wanted to adapt its employer branding to reflect a tech-savvy company in the eyes of potential candidates. As the biggest telco in Indonesia, Telkomsel wanted to emphasise that its company is the best place to kick-off a career. Besides, Telkomsel wanted to promote its company as a modern, innovative and adaptive company which would be an attractive proposition for Indonesia’s young talent.

Objectives:

The objective was to make an activation that embodied Telkomsel's purpose. The aim of this initial activation was to be a place where Telkomsel could talk about the company, give an opportunity to Indonesian’s tech talent to show off their capabilities, and provide a platform for IT communities to share their knowledge.

Our Approach:

We came up with the idea of an end-to-end activation called Telkomsel Tech Titans League. The all-new program is a tech competition aimed at challenging tech-talent in Indonesia to show off their talent and capabilities concerning the latest technological insights and competencies.

Wrapped in an online challenge format, the purpose of this competition was to be a platform for candidates to share their knowledge and build relationships with talent, communities, experts, and the internal Telkomsel. At the end of each series, we also conducted a webinar on the theme of each completed series.

We helped to manage the event from the very outset. Commencing with the registration period, online test challenge, arranging high level timelines both for the online challenge and for the webinar, executing the day of the webinar with OBS platform, handing out surveys to the participants and reporting upon the completion of each series, we ensured that our client would be provided with the very best service with our employer branding activation.

Results:

Over a period of three months, we held a total of three series with three different themes, which were: data analytics, software development, and cyber security. Kalibrr has succeeded in gathering throughout the three series a total of 500 tech-talent from all over Indonesia and raised awareness of Telkomsel’s new employer branding through Telkomsel Tech Titans League. Regarding the webinar, we successfully reached 85% Net Promoter Score after project completion, which equals to 4.4 out 5-star rating.

Currently we are preparing another series of Telkomsel Tech Titans League, which will be launched shortly in 2021.
